The second day we took a ferry to Supetra Port and we walked along the water on the island of Brac. It was almost completely deserted, but we ended up finding all of these abandoned resorts, and really great small coffee shops. The views were unbelievable.. and while Dan and Andrew skipped rocks, Hillary, Steph and I laid on the concrete boardwalks, and just let the breeze wash over us.
The first day we climbed Marjan mountain which was so cool! We could see across to all of the islands that surrounded Split's port and we could see all of the marinas, and there was a regatta going on, with tons of little sailboats scattered everywhere. It looked so surreal to see the huge great mountains cascading in the background, and the huge green trees sticking out, and breaking the streaks of blue and teal water that surrounded us...with the little white sailboats and the white caps, it was unreal..
I took this picture on our hike up Marjan, where we ran into 3 or 4 small chapels that were closed, but so tiny and beautiful.
Our fourth day we spent walking the wall of Dubrovnik. It was so high up, but showed the city and old fort in a much different setting. It was so different than split, everything was much more compact, and close together, and it was very sunny and warm, we spent about 2 hours stopping and lounging in the sun..laughing about our past four days of traveling..the bus rides, the hostels we stayed in, the people we had met, and the great food that we had eaten.
